COMPLIMENTARY US SHIPPING now standard!

Introducing complimentary US shipping for all orders @cardinalhouse!
-sorry Internationals, but I still have to wait in long lines at the understaffed post office for your orders. So no breaks for you just yet.

Also, above is the new standard packaging for the store. For now, I'll still keep some of the kraft pillow boxes on hand in case I have requests for a gift order. In addition, I'm transitioning to also recycle the paper-backed portions of the fabric book to use as backer cards [shown above].

As always, I make the stickers [cardinal-shape & circles] from recycling old wallpaper samples and magazines. And the fabric ties are also old samples that would otherwise end up in el trash can.

Well, what do you think?

studious reflection. diamonds in the rough.

My design A.D.D. & I have been playing with scaling down my rosebud earrings. The problem I came across was that sewing that much densely compacted folded fabric did NOT work out well with my fingers and MR Needle. Can we say ouch³?!

So, I decided to try Mr Glue for these guys.  They're still sturdy-made & look great. It's just that my fingers don't look like nasty swiss cheese & I can't tell you how much I appreciate that! Plus, they're faster to make this way so the price comes down!

The first pair's listed HERE:

now that's a colorful cake!

Now I've seen some "basic" [hah!] rainbow cakes at local bakeries & on the web --including this one, but this one really *ahem* takes the cake [sorry, I HAD to]!

How freaking cool is this wedding cake?! Okay, so not for everyone, but well-matched considering it's for a head honcho over at COLOURlovers.com. Find the original post about the cake [including the recipe] HERE.

And isn't it so inspiring to adapt for your own use? Gradations of blues for el kiddo's birthday cake or think sports team colors...

Happy baking!
